As I'm sure you all know I have spent the last week or so in Akron, PA at MCC orientation. Despite the constant eating, weak coffee, and hours of sitting in sessions, orientation has been a very enjoyable and valuable experience.
It has been a wonderful blessing getting to meet new friends from all over the US, Canada and Africa. We have enjoyed hours of card playing, tea drinking, and swapping stories and opinions about everything from the pronunciation of "resources" (that is rezources for my Canadian friends) to the latest news in politics and world events.
Although our experiences will be different, we share a common new beginning and a bond of friendship that outweighs the sadness of goodbyes that are soon to come. In a week I will be in Santa Cruz, Bolivia beginning a new job, in a new place, with many new things to learn and new friendships to form...
